OLD PRO TATTOO AFTERCARE USE AND HEALING
Welcome everyone, My name is Pabby. I’m a professional tattooist of over 30 years in the craft. I am here today to give you the time proven method and correct way of taking care of your new tattoo.
Let’s start with saying there are many different versions of what is recommended. Due to the huge influx of studios and artists. I can say with certainty that these instructions I am providing follow a general rule that has been time tested and universal across the board.
When it comes to choosing products for your new tattoo 3 key elements are always recommended. We always inform clients to use products that contain
NO FRAGRANCE
NO DYE’S
NO PETROLEUM
Always check whats in your products. It matterS.
So let us start at the beginning after the tattoo has been completed and it’s time to gently remove any bandaging.
Generally this will be done within the first few hours after the tattoo has been completed and your at home.
Note that Tegaderm and other adhesive bandaging is asked to be removed days later, however it is still necessary to still preform the aftercare regime mentioned here in procedure after removal.
Washing your hands first insures no contaminating of the tattoo.
With clean hands. Using OLD PRO TATTOO AFTERCARE anti-bacterial soap Has none of the mentioned prior ingredients Shake the wash well prior to each use. With warm clean water in hand add a small amount of wash, Its a concentrate so only a small amount is needed. Gently wash the new tattoo with a massaging soft pressure.
Removing any excess plasma, blood, ink, or etc.
Use a clean, soft towel or paper towel to pat the area dry. Don’t rub, as the skin is sensitive and prone to irritation.
Now to apply a lotion, also with none of the mentioned prior ingredients, Using a tattoo-specific aftercare product like Old Pro Tattoo Lotion. Applying a pea sized amount per hand sized tattoo only. Gently work into tattoo until absorbed.
This process will be repeated every 4 to 5 hours for the next 2 weeks. At minimum 3 times a day.
During this healing time avoid pools, hot tubs, or any non-clean water sources. Keeping in mind your tattoo is considered a open door for bacteria and other physically harmful contaminates to not only enter and cause adverse healing but also prevent and protecting yourself physically from become ill.
Avoiding prolonged direct sunlight is essential to any tattoo healing and of course after healing to use sunscreen to continue in holding color and vibrance .
Now you know how a professional heals tattoos and what we truly recommend.
If you have questions concerning your tattoo and healing with any issues or problems always contact your professional tattooist for that information. More than likely its due to not following proper aftercare.
